One of the towers at Cannon Street Station basking in the sun at the end of the day.

Portrait photo of one of the two brick towers of Cannon Street Station that face out towards the River Thames. Blue skies are behind the tower with wispy white clouds.

In the bottom of the picture you can see a train ready to leave the station.

Today I've passed the milestone of *one million steps* walked on my walking pad since I purchased it in late October!🚶‍♂️

That's an average of 6,339 steps a day over this period and a total distance of about 400 miles walked...all while working.

h/t to @hailley.co who inspired me to buy it.
Graph showing daily progress towards 1,000,000 steps walked on my walking pad while working.

x-axis is a date axis from 25 October 2024 until today (31 March 2025).

Y-axis counts from zero to 1 million.

Data points mostly form a straight line with an increased daily rate of steps from early in 2025.

London’s skyline changes so fast. For the last five years, the lop-sided ‘1 Blackfriars’ has dominated the views around the Blackfriars Bridge.

Now, the 50 storey ‘Opus’ — part of the Bankside Yards development — is starting to obscure views of 1 Blackfriars from the east.

This is to make it easier for doctors to share this information with patients during a consult. E.g. a psychiatrist can bring up the page on their computer and the patient just scans the QR code to get the page on their phone.

No need for emails or printing out paper!

I'm pleased to announce that I have helped finish this piece of website work for my employer that has added QR codes to almost 100 #MentalHealth information pages.

My 11-year old son has been doing so much amazing #art lately.

I’ve encouraged him to make a 'roundup' video that showcases some of his recent output as there are just so many cool things he does now (including model making and animations).

This is St Helen’s Tower in the City of London. Completed in 1969 with 23 floors, it looks set to be demolished this year to make way for 1 Undershaft…a skyscraper that will be the same height as the Shard and will have 73 floors.

I think I may have listened to just a little too much politics news this year! 😀

This was partly due to their being elections in both the UK and the USA. I will definitely try to step back from listening to so much politics in 2025 as I don’t think it is generally healthy for me.

My boys have somehow amassed *4* different advent calendars each this year.

I tried explaining to my six-year old that, when I was his age, advent calendars didn’t contain chocolates…they just contained a little picture.

He looked at me quizzically and asked ‘Was that in the olden times?’.

🤣

Dipping my toes in the waters of bluesky.

After a year of following way too much political news (UK and USA) across other channels, I need some respite.

So here for books, astronomy, architecture, and content that will calm my soul.
