Business has a long history of going along with and encouraging things that are blatantly illegal when the government comes along and says "national security, trust us" with or without a patina of legality. The guys trying to create the panopticon are about as trustworthy as Trump.

Ubnt, on premise storage. It works quite well but there are some cloud dependencies that I've never bothered to look too hard at. (Which are also likely easy to block or isolate from the public Internet entirely.)

The Westy is ready. I am skeptical the true cause has been resolved but it is running fine again. The spare for the old noisy fuel pump that I've carried for the last 15 years has been swapped and pressure is up 1PSI. I think it is more likely a crummy connector than a slightly off spec fuel rail.🤷‍♂️

Only that it's a gremlin. The kind where nothing works so you swap a part and then it kinda works and you put the original back in and it kinda works and the mechanic is like great times... He has more time next week.

I'll ask, the old man who ran it forever was a piece of work, knew his stuff but was a full crotchety old asshole mechanic. Based on my experience anyway. There's also Joel in Cotati, he's also old and crotchety but has only reached gruff.
