💯👆🏻this.
I once had a similar comment & reviewer suggested named male PI as the expert to add, even saying %FTE he should be!
I knew said male well, & anyone who knew him even slightly would know he would never contribute that much FTE even for his own grants, nor was the right person to include.

The no A-holes rule applies to sooooo many things. (Everything!)

Great list. 👏🏻 Will point to it/you in my next lab manual updates.
Many similar values here.

This would be an excellent study! Given how fast AI has come into the edu space, I suspect the comparison has not yet been investigated.
And certainly a longitudinal study would be ideal here.

such that the changes seen are largely positive? But often interdisciplinarity has not been well thought out at unis, just like AI now.
So maybe the interdisciplinary convo will be moot as the next shiny new concept comes around to hitch one’s strategic plan to!?! 5/5

And I think lacking deeper understanding of a given area and having to spend *time* thinking about it or ‘working on’ it will not be an advantage in many post-grad pursuits (yes, jobs).
Hard to have a deeper convo here but perhaps those of us who have direct experiential knowledge in this area…3/n

we know these are 1. Superficial outputs ‘explaining’ a thing & 2. Often wrong.
Even more so today, if UGs are relying on AI and don’t have depth in skills or disciplinary knowledge, they will never grow the ability to recognise the shortcomings of either thier own, others’, or AI’s knowledge….2/n

To even start to understand how the world works we need to learn about it more deeply than I think most interdisciplinary progs offer. As @historecluse.bsky.social points out, with AI students are increasingly believing AI outputs are what is sufficient to show understanding. They mimic this Yet…1/n
