I love that book, but could never make scarf and giraffe work together! Boat and goat are grand, bog and dog were a bit tongue-twisty for my kids.

We had houses, named after saints- Bridget, Colmcille, Laurence and Patrick. Each house had a 1st to 6th yr class, so B1, B2, up to B6. We had inter-house sports and competitions- it was all very Mallory Towers, I loved it!

The same happened my dad, but I appreciated having the week- it meant no rushing, and we were able to take our time planning things. No more than a week though, that was enough!

A waffle sandwich is a thing of beauty- toast, with mayo and cheddar and a waffle in the middle *chefs kiss* (waffles always done in the toaster, for speed!)
