Congressman Bill Keating
@keating.house.gov
Official Account. Proudly representing the 9th Congressional District of Massachusetts.
I am glad that we now have enough support in the House to pass a 3 year ACA tax credit extension under a discharge petition.

But the 32,000 residents of Southeastern Massachusetts facing thousands of dollars in monthly premium increases cannot wait until Congress returns in the New Year to vote.

Productive meeting today w/ Ukrainian Ambassador Olha Stefanishyna and repjimcosta.bsky.social , mcbride.house.gov, and titus.house.gov to discuss the necessity of US-backed security guarantees for Kyiv and Ukraine's European future. I look forward to our continued work together in the new year.

Tevis and I had a great time at today’s Falmouth Christmas Parade, but Moby stole the show per usual. Thanks to the Falmouth Chamber and to all of the volunteers and small businesses who worked together to bring the parade and the entire Holidays by the Sea celebration to life this weekend.

The American public should see what happened during the second strike of a suspected Venezuelan drug boat - my op-ed in today's Boston Globe: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/12/03/opinion/strike-drug-boat-hegseth/ @globeopinion.bsky.social

The tapes of the second strike must be released - not just to Congress, but to the American people. Thanks to MSNOW for having me on today to discuss.

Happy Thanksgiving - I hope your day is filled with family, friends, and gratitude.

WH's 28 pt plan for Ukraine is total capitulation to Putin. Ukraine's future is up to Ukraine, & Europe as well as the international community must be at the table - it must be rejected. More below:

Productive conversation today with the Ambassador of Colombia to the United States, Amb. Daniel García-Peña, on efforts to counter transnational crime and the impacts of the admin's illegal boat strikes.

All the credit to the survivors who stepped up to make their voices heard in an effort to make sure that no child should ever again have to go through the trauma that they experienced, and that no White House can dismiss their lived experience as a hoax.

The Trump Administration is illegally blowing up boats and undertaking extrajudicial killings in the western hemisphere and the American people deserve evidence and facts, not bluster. My full statement:

If you have plans to escape the cold this winter, now is the time to take a look at your passport. With routine processing times of 4-6 weeks and a suggestion to allow an additional 2 weeks on both ends for mailing, time is running out for routine processing before the February school break.

POTUS is in court again, fighting to prevent the distribution of SNAP benefits, and now he’s focused on penalizing states like MA that are stepping up to feed residents who are going hungry while the administration wages its fight in court to prevent the use of available funds to sustain SNAP.

I was glad to stop by the Dartmouth Friends of the Elderly's annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon today to say thank you to the men and women who have served our nation and to congratulate this year's honorees, Norm Gunderson and Bob Mayo, on their recognitions.

Open Enrollment starts today, and that means many of you will be exploring options as you face steep premium increases as a result of changes made by Republicans in Congress.

If you're one of the 93% of ACA enrollees facing increases, please share your story: https://keating.house.gov/yourpremiums

POTUS is faced with two options: he can direct USDA to pay out SNAP benefits or he can do nothing and force 42 million Americans to go hungry. Starving Americans to score political points shouldn’t be considered an option at all, but the cruelty all too often seems to be the point these days.

I am a co-sponsor of H.R. 5401 - the Pay Our Troops Act of 2026 which will ensure our military personnel do not miss their October 15th paycheck, and I joined my colleagues in calling on Speaker Johnson to reconvene the House so we can vote on it ASAP.

My office has compiled a list of FAQs regarding the current GOP shutdown. We will update it as more information is received from federal agencies and as new questions come in. If your question isn’t answered here, please give us a call to address your inquiry: http://keating.house.gov/shutdown

We are facing an unprecedented health care crisis caused by Trump & the GOP – with ACA credits set to expire, 29,000 of our neighbors here in our district will see their health care costs rise. We are in the midst of the largest cut to American healthcare in history - that’s why we're fighting back.

Trump's vacillation on Russia and Putin must stop. There's too much at stake. We have the ability to avoid a direct conflict with troops on the ground in Poland, but we must act now. I commend our Polish and NATO allies for their measured response.

I have signed onto the discharge petition to move forward with the disclosure of the Epstein files - and I applaud the brave women who came forward yesterday to share their story.

Occupying Gaza City will only endanger hundreds of thousands of innocent Palestinians who will again be displaced by this conflict, worsen the humanitarian situation, and further threaten the remaining hostages.

I'm sure Republicans wanted this immoral bill passed in the middle of the night, but we're not letting that happen. We're making sure the American public has every chance to see eactly what's going on.

You know, it might be a big bad ugly bill, but it's an easy vote. I'm voting no. Hell no.

The law, at its core, is designed to protect every person whose authentic existence is questioned - and today's ruling undermines that principle. Here are some of my remarks to the MA LBGTQ Bar Association from earlier this month:

Freedom delayed is freedom denied. Today, as we observe Juneteenth, we celebrate the progress made, but also reflect on the truths of our nation's history and the work that still lies ahead.
