Bash: "Trump gave countries a 90 day pause on the sweeping tariffs...That pause ends in 3 days. What happens on Wednesday?"

Bessent: "[They] will go back to the April 2 level."

Bash: "Starting when?"

Bessent: "On August 1."

Bash: "Okay. So there's basically a new deadline."

Bash: "Why haven't we seen the kind of deals that he promised in the last 90 days?"

Bessent: "He didn't promise this. When we send out the 100 letters to these countries, that will set their tariff rate. So we'll have 100 done in the next few days."

Bash: "That's not a deal, that's a threat."

"The evidence that insurance reduces mortality seems awfully strong at this point, which means there’s awfully good reason to think taking Medicaid away from millions of Americans will cause a significant number of them to die prematurely."
