Have replied :) Sorry, chasing tail just now! But all good; it's been inked in since forever!

Was randomly wondering today if Nation is also linked to nativus etc... and lo! Funny we were thinking about the same thing. (The idle thought came from: what was the Germanic word for 'nation' etc before they adopted it? Or is that all a bit Sapir-Whorfe cos there wasn't actually much 'nationhood'?

Haven't got em at all now!

The only advantage of the projector is that the laser pointer shines onto it better.

I prefer the telly. The definition and pixel quality is a lot better and you can keep a lesson pacier without constantly having to wipe the board. (I annotate A LOT!). With the telly you just jump to the next slide and it all goes! Also don't need a clicker in your pocket!

Nine years ago I left a school with IWBs to revert to whiteboard and projector. Then we got upgraded to giant tellies in that school. Now in my new school I'm back on whiteboard and projector, with a little remote control where the signage for the 'FREEZE' button has nearly been rubbed off.

So is the link to German legen/liegen a coincidence or can that also squeeze in?

Oh I would totally listen to an episode about Faroese! I learned heaps from your Na'vi episode.

Every time I listen to ALILI I wonder whether I could talk eloquently on Interlanguage... (specifically the variety used by teenage English learners of French or German). It's a fun intellectual experiment.
Looking forward to seeing Danny at Radley next week 😀

In terms of how no-one noticed... it's right next to a whole load of big building sites so there are always big lorries coming and going. Then into a narrow gap with hedges on both sides so easily hidden. And probably done at night.

Only 79%? Where on earth were the other 21%?

We do this stuff and it's so important. We should keep a log!

J'avais un peu l'impression d'un petit codeswitch en anglais mais avec une intonation très écossaise, ce que j'ai trouvé mignon (si je l'ai bien compris).

I would anticipate some 'yes, but'. I guess the issue is all the other competitors for curriculum time... and staffing! (Which becomes a vicious circle.)

I really liked your talk (was in the online audience) and will be taking your findings back to our senior leadership.

If you think about things like aphantasia and hyperphantasia as well there's definitely a huge spectrum within people's thoughts when processing the world. Research on 'inner voice' intersects with this too, I feel.

I have noticed many a time how auditory I am. When I do wordle I'm totally driven by the sound of what I'm writing. And learning vocab in BSL really threw me because there was no sound to hang it off.

I have often felt that we view autistic and adhd people in the way we viewed gay people in the 1970s. Sorry you were forced into that but glad you have a similar perspective. Solidarity.

Welcome to visit if you ever want to come to the Cotswolds.

Thank you. Hardly on here at the mo as working like a loon. But this is brilliant. Interestingly at my new place I've had a few goes at nearly all TL lessons and the kids love it... find it really fun!

😅 I really don't think we could train AI in this interlanguage. Wary of putting it on here nonetheless in case it can work it out!

It would say: mon ecole est grand et je j'aime mon maths prof parce que amusant. Je joue le foot avec mes amis dans le parc. La cantine est OK mais je n'aime pas le fromage. J'ai 2 sciences classes on lundis, c'est un peu difficile.

I was very pleased to see a trans pride flag on one of the overpasses on the A40 on the way to Witney this morning!
