HKT-0400 Sega Katana Dreamcast GD-Writer

Connects to either an HKT-01 Dreamcast Development Box or HKT-05 Dreamcast GD-X Duplicator via SCSI to burn game data onto GD-R discs, a process known to take up to 24 hours. Up to four GD-Writers can connect to a GD-X Duplicator

This is the updated version of the Sega Saturn Game Controller Convert Box, using the "Katana" codename before the official Dreamcast name

You can run games directly from the Sega Katana Dreamcast Dev Box's internal SCSI hard drive. These were by default a 4GB Seagate ST34520N. Here are captures of Sonic Adventure International Edition with custom texture packs

The Sega Katana Dreamcast Dev Box outputs a boot screen different from the standard Dreamcast console

Set its rotary switch to either NTSC (orange logo) or PAL (blue logo) across various regions. An invalid rotary switch option outputs a monochrome boot screen with no sound
