We were happy to lend a hand (truck) this weekend to help transport trees with Green Columbus to the South Side so residents can plant them and improve our city’s tree canopy.

This past September, nearly a thousand volunteers helped cleanup over 43,000 pounds of litter from our streets, parks, and waterways! These efforts make a real difference in keeping our community clean, beautiful, and healthy for all who call Columbus home.

Fall is here, so what should you do with your leaves? Remember, never put leaves in the trash.🍂

Instead, you can:
- Keep leaves on your yard
- Turn leaves into mulch
- Compost leaves
- Place leaves in a separate container or paper bags for yard waste collection

We are piloting a Mill in our office to help reduce wasted food going to the landfill. So far, 250 pounds of food have been collected and diverted—that's like saving the weight of a baby elephant from going to waste! See how you can divert food waste at columbus.gov/foodwaste
