This conversation isn't even about Taylor Swift for me, and by no means is it a dire issue (Free Palestine and Fuck ICE btw), but it's about allowing things that aren't for us to exist because our opinion isn't the only one! In a main character age, we must keep some awareness.

I don't like electronic music or super heavy metal very much. I can't relate to it but I have close friends who are very much in the space for that music and love it. It doesn't "click" in my brain but it does in theirs. What I love is seeing people enjoy themselves!!!!!

Unless something holds or pushes a harmful narrative, we should be encouraging differences in passion and experiences by letting go what is not for us rather than pushing negative energy on those who are enjoying it.

You don't have to like the album. You don't have to like her music! That's okay. Art is subjective and that's the whole point.

Art is controversial and MEANT to be stripped and felt, or passed along to someone who will so you can find and enjoy what does resonate with you.

Not everyone will relate, connect, and feel the human behind the words. That's what it's about! Those who DO connect are who it's for. It's OKAY to not like a piece of art. To not relate. What isn't okay, is immediately deeming it bad because it didn't click for you.

Artists, especially those who write their own songs, are putting their lives on display as a piece of passion for art and connection through lived experiences.

TLOAS seems to be incredibly polarizing to many fans as it wasn't what they expected/isn't their taste/etc. You can dislike the album, THAT'S OKAY!! Nobody has to like anything. Sometimes I WANT to like something but it just doesn't click for me as someone who attaches to music-
