This is so cool! I love tactile and interesting ways to interact with things that have been taken over by phones and screens!

In case you need it or someone stumbles into this thread here is a link to an example project that uses the DAC to turn the CYD into an Internet radio github.com/witnessmenow...

Thank you for explaining, I really appreciate it. I will have to look around a bit more and may update my video. Would love to try graphene but don't have the funds to buy a newer phone compatible with it at the moment.

I'd probably try one of those ESP32 based CYD boards. They have an SD card slot and a DAC and connection for a speaker built in. Might be a bit of work but you can play files off the SD card and have the ability to change, pause, or play from the builtin touchscreen

Thank you for the reply! What are the more reasonable options? I made a video talking about /e/OS and how it compares to stock android. I did research but maybe not enough. So you are saying that leaving stock android on a device is preferable to /e/OS if I am unable to get a newer device?

This is a naive question but what about compared to stock android? I have wanted to try graphene but my older phone is incompatible. /e/OS supports it however and allowed me to use a newer android version. Is that worse than if I had left it stock?

To be clear android will remain open source it's just the development that's no longer going to be public

Taken directly from the marketing page of a startup that will get 10 mil in funding and be defunct by the end of the year 😂😂

I think a short course on the basics of setting up ota updates would be super useful for a wide range of projects. Not just getting the code set up to accept ota updates but also how to build the project to get files in the proper format and showing some ways ota can be utilized.

I am happy to say that I am a liar! You can't use ADC2 however you can use ADC1. I (for the first time in my life /s) made a mistake in my code
