A lot of unknowns in the shutdown pathway, but voting for the CR seems to come with some clear political costs for Dems. So far the attitude gap between elected Dems and their base suggests that the '26 cycle may be an optimal environment for primary challengers to throw their hat in the ring.
What’s the Dem counter-argument to this? After the government shut down I’m not sure what happens next and I’m also not sure it’d be Dem-favorable.
