So as a cartoonist, I sometimes use my art to make political statements, this is a drawing I started after hearing the awful news out of Minneapolis on Saturday. It’s probably not as overtly political as it could have been but I think it still gets the point across.

I did this odd little series of black and white rough inked drawings today. They are definitely a tad odd, but in theory they tell a story of overcoming darkness.

Clearly I’m still trying to nail the look of this character. But I think you can see my weird way of writing a comic book here. I don’t write out a traditional script, because for me the art and the writing are so intricately woven together that I find it hard to separate them.

I am now 27 pages into this issue of Tiny Tots and I need to start wrapping up this issue soon in order for it to end where I need it to end. I am contemplating skipping to the last two pages to draw out what needs to happen. #idrawcomics #indiecomics

Drawing a pencil sketch of a new robot henchman the Tiny Tots may have to face in an upcoming issue. And there are even a few Tiny Tots in there for scale.
I don’t have a ton of background built up for this henchman other than who built him, but I’m working on it. #idrawcomics

I mean what else would I bring before the break of dawn on while on vacation… I’m drawing comics of course!! I finished the pencils for one page while on the plane and started this page last night, it’s coming along nicely I think.

We are officially past the halfway point of this issue (in terms of pencils) so now I just have to buckle down and finish it up before the fall. Mostly because I have to start inking the issues that are done except for the inks.

Guys this 2 spread is killing me! I'm not sure what made me think this was a better idea than a double page fight scene but here we are... the roughs are turning out ok but its definitely a challenge drawing this page.

So this is a fun experimental page, the goal of this page was for it to be a single layer illustration and I added a goal of as little resizing or moving figures as possible. Obviously I added that after i decided to resize and move the center pane. 🤣
