this is a cool idea. I can't make it tonight, but I'd like to do something like this in the future, if you do it again. "Short story club" sounds ideal. Coincidentally, I'm going to an in-person book group tonight, but I'd rather talk about short stories more so than anything else.

nothing quite like the blue of a late Sept sky. #makingthemostofthemorning

side note: I've always thought Decorah would be a great place for a summer writers' workshop/camp/retreat/festival. Hiking, biking, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, world class breweries. And some writing, too. #decorah

are you a fan? I love his work. I was thinking about Bradford's work the other day b/c I drove past a house with a mattress out front, on the curb, and thought of that story. I think it might be titled "Mattress" (it's in Dogwalker)

I like this one -- just read it -- it has a laid back, philosophical slacker feel to it. And it's funny. Hilarious even. Reminds me in a way of some of Arthur Bradford's work.

My thanks to @keithlesmeister.bsky.social and Cutleaf Journal for publishing my short story, In Between.
