Not everything on the list was new for me, PJ has been my top band for 30 years. 😁 But, its a diverse list bcuz I'm actively searching for music, not relying on an algorithm. (I took your post as a lament that people are fed music by the algo instead of searching out new bands, albums, genres etc)

Maybe I misunderstood your original post, but I was talking about how it's not necessary to be fed music by an algorithm. I, also, use YtMusic and find its algorithm better than Spotify, but thats not how I find most new music.

It doesn't have to be that way. I have a few different places I check everyday for new things to listen to (1001 albums everyone should hear, 600 Top Latin American Albums, charts of new releases, etc). I listen to new stuff every day. Here's my top 25 from last week - nothing from an algorithm.

This. Ive been able to experience so much more music. Ive been able to listen to 1000s of albums because of streaming. I could never have afforded to buy that many. I'm retired now, and one of the best parts of my day is sitting, relaxing, and listening to 2 or 3 albums Ive never heard before.

Why would you meal prep every day of the week? The point of meal prepping is to cook once and have food all week.
