We had a little tech/gamer forum running at that time and a IRC buddy recommended to stay with AGP at that time, which was fine took a while before PCIe was really playing its specs out. And the 6800 GT I have did run at higher specs and due the double VRAM Asus went with two molex plugs.

No just the 6800 GT but the beefy version with 256 MB VRAM :D
