I agree that language is important to the integrity of your thesis and to help tell your story. It can be powerful if links back to the philosophy and methods you are using. If understanding and exploring perception aligns with your approach and answering the question, then it can be perfect fit.

Absolutely! But do we always have the feedback/conversational literacy to perceive the feedback constructively? In a conversation how we look may not match what we are thinking. That old chestnut!
