I had a conversation with a now retired Republican legislator a few years ago where he said to me that he understood abortion was necessary & medically appropriate in cases such as ectopic pregnancies. The same week, he attended a pro-life rally & made comments about how abortion should be banned.

He’s running as a Dem for his same seat. That district has been represented by moderate Dems in the recent past.

In my experience, this is true. Democrats look at me like I’ve lost my damn mind when I tell them to go talk to one Republican or another about an issue they care about.
