This actually did the trick, helped ID some modifiers that had some junk data baked into them in the older character files.

Still a big gap but not -as- big now.

He's inexplicably less than a -third- the file size of the other characters. I don't know what I did to achieve this and want to replicate it.

(Yes, I use data clean-up religiously, so all extraneous items are removed before packing)

My first few characters, once fully packed, range from 160 - 250 MB. 4k textures, polycounts around 100k, a full (and pretty complex) rig. Too large, I think. I want to optimize them so they aren't so cumbersome.

Cue the nurse shark twink. Same deal. Same rigging, texture size.

It's the only way I can really keep the anxiety at bay reliably. Have something to focus on, engage with it for a bit, plan out what I do next so there's as little downtime for my brain to wander into the danger zone.
