Friendly reminder that if you buy a book on Kindle, you're only paying for the rights to read, not own. If a book truly gets banned, it will be taken away from digital platforms like Kindle, nook, etc. Consider getting physical copies of banned (or other) books!

100% agree. I’ve listened to audiobooks for years, but it really ramped up in grad school. I was reading hundreds of pages of scientific articles. Audiobooks allowed me to read for enjoyment again. #booksky
Claiming audiobooks "don't count" is ableist and stupid. Consume your content in the fashion most enjoyable and convenient. #booksky

The last 20 years of attacking education, scientists, & true journalism in this country have made it so that the majority of the US populace doesn’t even realize it. There’s a saying about cooking a lobster by raising the temp so slowly it doesn’t know it’s being boiled alive. Seems to fit here too.
What’s the difference between a gov controlling an algorithm, silently eliminating reach for things it doesn’t like, vs the same gov using its power, to demand that the platform remove the things it doesn’t like.?

In China they are overt. With TikTok in the US, they control silently
