Lost track of time yesterday, so I'm playing catch up again!

Day 16 of #ArtAdventCalendar: I've been playing with paint "smooshing" on paper quite a bit, this time opting for layering of a smoosh after the first bit had dried.

Shiny blue amoeba-like shapes and bubbly gray, white, black, purple, and dark blue circular spore shapes ooze out of two cracked and blue-stained abstract petri dishes. Everything is spilled onto a background of a pink-hued nutrient bath effect, with a hint of blue speckles and patterned silver tread. Heavy silver lines like cilia connect everything in a neurographic style. Two of the amoeba shapes have white cilia within them while the third has a hint of holographic pebbling.

A black-framed canvas panel painted turquoise with a diagonal pour of fluid acrylic in purple, pink, and blue-black colors. Silver outlines the pour as well as lines intersect outside of and thread through the pour. The intersecting areas a the opposite corners of the panel are painted a pink-blue with silver squiggly lines. Alkyd oil circles and purple-black multi-colored balls flow along the silver lines.

Soothing Lagoon

These pieces are another way I use leftover acrylic "skins" from fluid art. There is no glass, so these small frames can travel with you.

A jewelry set of a necklace and earrings. The necklace is an oval cabochon stainless steel pendant with a black faux leather cord; the coloring of the pendant is striations of blues and purples streaking from one side to the other with stark bands of black and white at the base. The earrings are oval cabochon stainless steel dangles with a segmented pattern border; the earrings have similar coloring to the pendant, only the streak of black and white stretches through them at an angle in alignment with each.

Day 11 of #ArtAdventCalendar: I found some wooden cutout ornaments at Michael's last year while shopping for other supplies and decided to make some sets. I enjoyed creating blended backgrounds and the meditative line work decorating each.

Dark brown neurographic lines curve and twist and intersect like chaotic branches as seen from below. Day 1 of #ArtAdventCalendar: A triptych of an acrylic rainbow across three 8x8in canvases with acrylic markers and inks and stencils adding cloudy, rainy details.
In the first canvas, blended and scraped reds and oranges dominate with just a hint of yellow at the far right of the canvas. In the second canvas, greens and yellows blend and scrape. In the third canvas, blues, indigos, and violets blend and scrape over one another. Across all three canvases are neurographic-style lines in black and silver. Stenciled shapes like cookie cutouts of clouds in pearly and suns in silver decorate each canvas. All canvases are speckled with rose gold and edged in black.

This cat has been very insistent i join her for Balcony Time. But she just wants to snuggle near my shoes and catch some sun rather than curl up next to me.

Also, should I go back inside, she will be very cross. She loves to combine Balcony Time with Momma Time.

From the Oro Valley, AZ #NoKings. Not sure what the total number was, but we were out there in force, lining the last major intersection as you head out of Tucson.

This is a piece that has been in my WIP bin as I try to figure out what else it needs. My current thinking is some texture, but I haven't felt confident enough to actually put it to the canvas yet.

Turquoise is a favorite of mine. Living in the southwestern US, I get to see all kinds of variety in turquoise gems in both coloring and settings. I went far afield to a tropical lagoon for today's prompt, though, wanting to play with watercolors and salt a bit.

I actually don't have a peach color in all my different odds and ends of supplies. So I grabbed five different colors, aiming for the variegated coloring of the fruit. It was a fun exercise!

I had fun scraping some acrylic paint around to give a sense of a field of lavender bushes. I can almost smell it. I miss the lavender bushes I had managed to grow in my small herb garden. I'll have to try that again.

I've missed quite a lot of the daily challenges, but black seems a perfect one for re-joining. Let's just say I'm mourning my 401K and used some shiny silver and pearl coloring to manifest a silver lining into existence for it...
