This would be good if they knew what farce meant.

He's still got other companies that are a little harder to directly impact. But it makes him look bad so I'm for it.

Efficient.

This is me every damn day. Maybe something good can happen for once.

Maybe his prison sentence will reform him and he'll dedicate his life to improving our prisons and criminal justice system. Just kidding, that will never happen.

I used to dream of a society where instead of stores full of mass produced garbage, tailor-made clothes were more common but not like this. Not. Like. This.
April 30, 2025 at 11:12 PM
Certainly. It takes a long time to get good and clothes that fit are complicated. Guess flour sack dresses are coming into style again.

Raw materials are a big hurdle. Not to mention sewing machines are a large expense. A quality machine is at least $1000. The cheaper ones will wear out pretty quickly or break easily.

I had a nervous feeling that our success was being propped up on a crumbling foundation. So much of the wealth is speculative and misrepresented by accounting wizardry. The only areas of growth are ponzi schemes. Everything about our way of life is unsustainable.

I totally think it's the right call. We need a reality check. These lunatics still have no idea what made America so powerful.
April 24, 2025 at 1:06 AM
The kids were right on this one. Ohio is cementing itself as a slang for lame.

China might continue to withhold rare earth minerals even if the tariffs are dropped entirely.

Annoy them anyway.

The schools who stood up made the administration stumble back while the law firms that caved are being stepped on. A valuable lesson.

Mr. Abrego Garcia probably needs some electrolytes.

In addition to those factors I think there is just a base desire to protect what they have. Pulling up the ladder behind them means that they have more job opportunities. It's really normal social group behavior. It's quite rational. A lot of people were blindsided by his senseless cruelty.

Knowing that people are fighting for him must be such a relief though. I imagine that that hope will sustain him for a while. They'll have to be careful not to harm him unless they intend to send a message because of the high profile of this issue.

I have met a staggering number of immigrants from Mexico/ Central/S. America who opposed other immigrants coming, and therefore endorse Trump. Their motivations make sense but they don't see themselves as part of the same group. They are "good immigrants." Unfortunately for them, he is not rational.

We have to pave the path first. He is the most compelling case for return, and even that is not assured. We haven't forgotten them.
April 18, 2025 at 4:18 PM
I was thinking about that last night. They might put him in solitary so he can't inform the other prisoners.
April 18, 2025 at 4:15 PM
I'm no lawyer but being forced to sign a contract under duress wouldn't hold up in court.
April 18, 2025 at 4:13 PM
Yes, I have to imagine they spent some time "preparing" him to meet with the Senator. I'm sure he had to be very careful with what he said.

State courts still hold power. He can only pardon federal crimes.
