It's 5k season! Time for my weekly words of wisdom. If you can traverse a large grocery store or walk a mile without considerable pain you can do a fun run/walk 5k with little to no preparation. The next day will probably suck though.

Void! I decided to do wine and dine as a charity run. So I get to train all summer. Blegh. But at least I don’t have to contend with icy long miles. Link to donate coming soon.

Ok void, we're all in. Last workout was Wednesday, I'm taking a friend who doesn't run to a 5k tomorrow for some mileage, maybe Yoga Monday or Tuesday, then it's on a plane for fun then a 10-miler.

Void, I need to figure out a long (7-10 mile) hike for today. Tomorrow will be rainy, this afternoon is my last chance to load up my body with miles before the "taper." Though, really, I think it's more productive to think of the event as just a better supported group endurance outing.

Void! Sorry I didn't get back to you on Saturday before now. I was running late, I forgot my headphones, I had no music, I did go slower but I was sorta consistent and avg'd an acceptable 16:11 pace. Need to trim some mins there.

Void! Great news, I managed to get a sprint session in on Tuesday and I've started running a bit with the labrodoodle between sniff sessions. Legs/Core getting stronger. 6 miler on Saturday!
