Several years ago a family member purchased a cheap electric hand warmer for another relative. I was working as a product liability attorney at the time and all I could picture was the forthcoming class action complaint...
I found their reasons for holding back the truth to be believable, and so this didn't bother me as much as it usually would.
I don't want to spoil anything, but there were aspects of the ending that I did not enjoy, and I felt went counter to the themes of the book.

Yeah when I tore my ACL they told me that they wouldn't even consider surgery for a month because they "had to wait for inflammation to go down." I guess NFL-grade knees just work different or something.

My husband will sometimes (after the clean, folded laundry has been sitting in our room for days) just dump it out on the bed. So we can't go to sleep unless we put it away! So rude. Yet effective.

Yes, it drives me crazy when people I know defend the electoral college with the argument that otherwise, California and New York would decide everything. You mean, all of the *people* who live there would vote for things? And that's a structural problem somehow?

Especially by the time you're on a third kid and you're only taking care of the newborn! You're a pro now! Able to not freak out about all the minor newborn stuff because you've put in your time!

I am EXTREMELY extroverted and I read more books in a year than almost anyone I know (other than online friends 😅). I just don't watch very much TV.

Right? Like, at the margins there are ways to save money, but FOR STARTERS it's actually not "free" for one parent to quit their job to provide full time childcare.

Yes! I was just reminiscing the other day with my husband about the visualizations. We both spent many hours of our college careers absolutely mesmerized.

Ugh, that was our experience when my 5 month old had to take a course of steroids. Thankfully it was only for a few days!

There's a historic Shaker village near where I live and I've thought about how appealing a sexually abstinent society might have been for women (even mothers!) in a pre-birth control era. It's not surprising to me that they died out though. 😅
