Bought a house, and I'm ripping up carpet to enjoy the hardwood floors underneath! One room down, two to go.

Almost everything I am hired to edit is 29.97 and 59.94. I've been a professional editor for 19 years. I'd love to see 24 fps used more outside of Hollywood, since that's such a small percentage of the imagery we see these days.

I would add that frame rate plays a role in this, as does the film latitude versus digital. Also, my brain is more willing to believe a puppet/miniature/Pepper's Ghost is "real" before it will believe even the most stunning computer graphics becuase they look dimensionally flat to my eyes.

My partner had never seen it, and I watch it every Dec 24th. He was rapt throughout, and I shed tears multiple times, as usual. Such moving and vital cinema.

Also, my opinion of Mary's role has changed over the years. This article sums it up well.

There Is No Mary Problem in ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
George’s vision of his wife without him is essential to the film, but critics continue to miss its true—and profound—meaning.

I was going to give a VERY wrong answer and say Vito Acconci from "Theme Song" because I went to experimental film school and it equipped me with all sorts of knowledge that isn't useful in any way.

And I have shared that gift with a few more people here in Wisconsin!

I learned of the b3ta site & newsletter in 2004 when I was just starting college, and it has been a highlight of my week ever since. Thank you, Rob. Woo and yay!

The visuals are just stunning. I don't usually feel *better* after watching a horror film, but this one recharged my imagination. I do have a House shirt (with different artwork), and it's so fun when a stranger understands the reference! I hope you enjoy the film as much as I have.

House (1977) doesn't quite fit that criteria, but it is a fantastic piece of cinema. I'm not into gore either. Please don't read about it before watching it, and if you do see it, please tell me what you thought of it. When it debuted in Japan, both kids and older adults found it magical.

I interned at JJO Band Camp in 2004 and restocked beverages for the bands. I was taking a case of bottled water to Damageplan backstage, and DD thanked me and gave me a side hug. Didn't listen to his music or know anything about him at the time, but he was the only one to acknowledge me all day.

A lesson I learned, unfortunately. But it was about children and cancer, so it was hard not to get invested.

There is a tiny bunny dwelling in my friend's garden. We named him Hans Gruber. He's quite tame and likes to come right up to our feet when we're in the garden, but we don't touch him. I'm rooting for Hans, hoping he survives in this urban environment.
