Add another to your vaccine list for older adults. No one seems to mention RSV I am day 8 and just beginning to recover. Had all other shots so missed Covid, haven't had pneumonia, or flu but didn't think to get RSV. I have never been so sick & another family member hospitalized & ventilated.

Cheap boots false economy, my expensive leather boots lasted over 20 years. I lost them in moving before they wore out., loved those boots. Replacement cheap non leather boots lasted 3 years, followed by cheap vinyl 3 yrs & so on. Should have replaced with expensive boots I really liked.

Rude?? Why ever for. Even this old lady can tell it isn't 'real'. For one anyone who loves dogs isn't going to expose them to fireworks and for another the dog wouldn't be as happy about as Cher is in this delightful composit pic.

Under budget because he hasn't paid anyone? Isn’t that his habit, stiff the contractors!

I never heard any 'BC lefties' gloating about Fort Mac burning. Everyone I know were horrified by the reports and videos and praying for people to get out safely. This had to come from someone sowing misinformation and distrust.

I have been enjoying the posts featuring what people are having for Christmas feast. Given me some wonderful insight into family traditions and fun festivities.

Spell check grrr, that was Figgy Duff even if it was Foggy.

I loved the time I spent in Newfoundland. I learned some great survival skills and some cooking. I learned to bake bread, clean and cook fish, shrimp and Foggy Duff to mention just a few. I am in awe of Newfoundlanders.

And if you died of your complications because changes in your status were missed because no one checked you, well at least you got your sleep! Having said that, I agree nurses could and should be more discreet in monitoring to keep patients as comfortable & quiet as possible.

Being woken every 2 hours, usually reason like high bleeding risk. Can it be done less invasively? Probably, Less ofen? Maybe. Usually monitoring is short term during acute phase of treatment/assessment. But your US system is odd. Does hospital get paid more for monitoring more often?

Trays are generally picked up by non nursing staff who work in different department. When a ward is short staff (most are) trays can be picked up before anyone gets a chance to even notice they were not fed yet. Person picking up doesn’t have the responsibility or care about feeding.

When I worked in hospitals, I wanted my patients to sleep at night. The better they slept, the more 'other' work I got done. I got good at doing my rounds & assessments in total stealth mode without noise, shielded flashlight, and minimum gentle touch.

I remove most of the pith before cutting into strips and then only do the boil/simmer in water once before going on to water plus sugar. The bitterness is in the pith.

I remove much of the white pith from the peel before cutting the peel into strips. I then only have to do the boil in water once. The pith is what gives the peel that bitter taste. I also make candied orange peel every year.

Archie would lie on the grass, middle of fenced yard in the winter rains Pouring buckets, I am trying to call him inside to nice dry, warm house and he won't come. I finally have to grab a raincoat & chase him in. He is indignant. He was doing his job, guarding me, house, yard in that order.

Not quite correct, before 57 individuals were most likely exposed to measles virus as a child & are considered immune due to measles disease or antibodies from exposure. "Herd" immunity is an individual being protected only because everyone around is immune due to disease, antibodies, or vaccines.

There are many things I can't do on my own and many of them laborious. I book a time etc based on what are advertised service & rates. If the service was as advertised, why pay additional? I show my appreciation by saying thank you. If there was some service above & unexpected well then maybe.

Some might be smug, but most I know are not. They look at the US, then look at home & worry. They are prepping for similar fights.

A friend's son came over & checked my attic space. I had been hearing sounds at night & with no dog now it was creeping me out. Turns out it was a bird got in. Hole now repaired.
