Trump wants to bring ship building back to America, it’s all based on a long forgotten supremacy based on wartime building.
Ships built in America cost more than five times those built in the far east, secondly American ship builders prefer profitable billion dollar warships.

If the 1807 insurrection act gets imposed by Trump in America resulting in military law would the military or the national guard respond to orders, or will it be a MAGA militia ?

Ukraine has signed Trumps exploitative minerals agreement , how this will benefit the American people or the war in Ukraine is beyond me. This is not statecraft but 19th century colonial exploitation which will enrich a few billionaires.

The chief executives of many councils get a higher salaries than that of the Prime Minister. Birminghams is nearly the combined PM and Chancellor’s salary. They run the entire country the other a city within, that cannot be sustainable or even acceptable going forward.

87% of the worlds trade does not include the USA, so as trump turns his ass to the world, the world should turn their backs on America and let in stew in a mess of its making.

Scientists think they have found life on a planet 120 lights years away, let’s hope it’s not too advanced, with all that’s going on in the world at the moment, an alien invasion is the last thing we need!.

Applying commercial productivity criteria to the running of the state is actually counterproductive contributing to higher running costs and the slow paralysis of the state and it services provision to citizens it is meant to serve..

Putin meets American representative on Friday and then fires a ballistic missile at civilians killing 34 in Sumi, Ukraine two days later. He clearly believes Trump is impotent in solving the Russian /Ukraine conflict.

It seems the hidden message/threat behind Trumps demand for Europe and now also Japan to step contributions toward their own defence is predicated by the requirement to source weapons from American suppliers. It seems trumps first priority is the enrichment of the military industrial owners.

A quote from the movie Gangs of New York.
“ The ballot does not make the result, the counters do”.
Does this explain Trumps win?

I have just watched Trump signing ‘executive orders’ with his giant kiddie sharpie pen, listening to him ramble on saying complete nonsense the man is clearly bat shit crazy. It is like a scene out of the movie One flew over the cuckoo nest.

I had a nightmare dream a few months ago where customers were complaining they could get a new Land Rover from a dealership, then the world literally blew up, premonition or a bad dream?

Is time to rename the Republican Party the Republican Fascism Party of America.

Is the plan for America sponsored by Project/Heritage 2025 to allow Trump to be the bad guy, allow him to destabilise the natural order, then replace him with Vance, the so-called intellectual option, guaranteeing second term for Vance and even worst an autocracy without reelection.

There are GP’s looking for jobs, and GP practices short staffed looking to recruit GP’s, so where is the disconnect?. Maybe Wes Streeting needs to get off his arse and redirect some funding to provide subsidies so practices have the funds to employ more GP’s, it’s a win win.

A person once told me if you want to be successful surround yourself with people who are more clever and resourceful than you are. Trump seems on the flip side of that coin, surrounding himself with complete idiots.

Car manufacturers profit is around 7-10% so a 25% tariff just does not make sense so quite likely many manufacturers will just not export to America, including spare parts.
April 5, 2025 at 5:50 PM
If dealing with the US tariffs become the standard then there is only one choice left for the rest of world and match American tariffs percent for percent in order to balance the additional costs, and reset income taxation to a lower level to offset consumer costs and inflationary factors.

How is the the rest of the world ‘abusing America’ when it’s Americans buying foreign products that are better made and sometimes cheaper than American made products.
April 3, 2025 at 12:55 PM
Maybe rather than tariffs a simpler approach for Trump would have been to introduce an American version of Value Added Tax (VAT) on all imported goods, after all that what he thinks the European version it, although it applies to all goods foreign and domestic. Perhaps it is too honest a tax.

Trump is taking the USA down a rabbit hole so deep it may never recover, meanwhile the billionaires remain untouched and American corporations with factories and interests overseas continue to thrive.
