objectively it’s a overreaction to say that George Miller has always been a hack fraud now that he’s an AI guy but I will say that Three Thousand Years of Longing and Furiosa have been two of the most “it’s alright, I guess” movies of the 2020s

Jet Set Radio is my favorite game of all time so I’ll always feel a tinge of excitement whenever another “spiritual sequel” is announced, but it feels like there’s a new one every 2-3 years and there’s always more hype for the teaser trailers than the games actually coming out

sometimes I feel bad about engaging with movies only/primarily “as entertainment” but I know I’d otherwise just be watching theme park vlogs and instagram reels all day so it has to better than that

used to be when a movie was announced to be going to be Apple TV+ specifically I’d be like “ugh, nobody has that, I guess I’m not going to see it” but now I feel that way about every streaming service
