I'm willing to bet the tactic is intentional to fake reasons for military invasion and occupation; after all, they could claim the stops and arrests are police overreach and call the city an "illegal sanctuary" to pull federal funds to support them.

Court documents with vague wording describing the substance and no images from the police or concerned parents? This sounds like something out of a propaganda machine more than a legitimate story, especially given AL's history of overcharging black people with crimes and Fox's deceitful reputation.

People on the left want to protect the victims.
People in MAGA want to protect their godking.
There is no "both sides" to this issue.
There is no clearer moral boundary between the two sides.
And MAGA has backed themselves into this corner they now defend to the last.

I still question if he did himself in; he may have paid someone off to kill him, so that the questionable circumstances of his death would kick off a more thorough investigation into his contacts and blackmail ledgers.
December 23, 2025 at 10:37 AM
If by "home" he meant "hell", yeah, being found dead is a "short route".
But I think this narcissist, if he was suicidal at all, paid for someone to kill him, so that his death under questionable circumstances would lead to discoveries of his blackmail material for investigation.

When he dies and the next president comes into power, the first and most pressing thing we need to do is Trump-proof our government by codifying the norms and standards he so flagrantly disregarded and discarded, in addition to erasing monuments/artifacts of his legacy.

To abolish ICE, we need the power, the majority, and the political will. We can bulwark against their efforts in states that are still run by sane people and help those who will need to move for safety however we can. Doomering this scenario does nothing, acting now will save lives.

Misdemeanor offenses usually result in fines or home confinement; likely, they are holding off on arrests until enough misdemeanor offenses pile up to create a felony charge.

In other news, water is wet, temperatures are at record highs, our children are doomed to a hollow world, and the stock market couldn't be happier with the current destructive forever growth model they are building up like a bubble.

I would love to see the WH restored to historical preservation, even if it takes a decade of work to complete. We also need to make sure all the previous norms are strictly codified, with toothsome penalties for breaching them to include ouster from office.
Never again means never again.

And as a lawyer, you are rigidly locked into the *current* state of the law and the interpretations therein you can argue successfully and win in court; unfortunately, much of the precedent within that realm of thought is controlled by the parties most repulsed by potential for change.

Don't limit yourself to a binary. Go back and read my comments in totality, and re-examine recent Democratic victories where mainstream corporatists were in the wrong. You'll find that the Reaganite ideals are being discarded to ride the populist wave of the current left.
November 28, 2025 at 6:08 PM
The entire circumstance stinks.
Kash needs to have a strong PR presence and bungled the press briefings.
Kegstand needs to show a force of power, but allowed two Guards to die for the circumstances.
And Noem is already mobilizing 9/11 style islamophobia to justify another set of raids.
This is bad.

You are entitled to that viewpoint. The only way to get to the correct answer is action, not sitting and whataboutisming the discussion in a forever loss debate.
November 28, 2025 at 3:16 AM
I would caution against that kind of unintended historical revisionism; there is a major difference between the party of Reagan rolling back New Deal legislation and the current MAGA agenda. We have become accustomed to the new Overton view that the context of the past gets blurry, even with papers.
November 28, 2025 at 3:14 AM
Exactly, so why make it easier for them?
November 28, 2025 at 3:07 AM
If they are truly non-profit, that may be the case. But as with all things corporations have perverted through loophole exploitation, there are those who operate as nonprofits in order to be a funnel for dark money or a tax-evasion shell game piece, which they would have trouble doing anywhere else.

Nowhere near as fast as you are stating, as other states may not be as friendly or fast for them to set up in or allow them to exist with only on-paper arrangements. Where I live, you can't just have a PO Box and a lease contract to exist as an incorporated entity.
November 27, 2025 at 2:10 PM
As a consequence of Citizens United. The double-bladed sword of corporate personhood cuts both the corporatist liberals and fiscal conservatives alike, all while we are riding a wave of populism on both left and right calling for an end to cronyism and legal bribery.
November 27, 2025 at 2:07 PM
But that's the issue; they incorporate in Delaware *first* because of the lax regulations and friendly legal structure. Saying they'll move somewhere else isn't as much of a threat when most other places they could move to aren't as friendly to set up in.
November 27, 2025 at 2:05 PM
Agreed; we would need some form of federal regulation or an amendment to supercede state law as part of interstate commerce, especially in regards to internationally traded companies and organizations incorporated to an American PO Box without an office building nearby.

Also to grift off the gullibility of MAGA voters and supporters. A lot of these meme accounts build up a following of trusting viewers who can be dropshipped tacky and cheap merch for a premium.
November 24, 2025 at 10:59 AM
This feature must have been a Musk conspiracy fever dream trying to gotcha journalists and leftist accounts before launch. Now, the American people see that Homeland Security's account is an Israeli propaganda channel and most of MAGA memers are third country grifters or Russian assets.

Not everyone can cook. Not everyone has time to cook. And potlucks require people to contribute to work. It is better to contribute something edible even if store bought than to show up without contributing.
November 24, 2025 at 10:53 AM
The Republican platform and lineup of characters are so unpopular when voters are asked directly about policies that they can only win when they lie, cheat, steal, and otherwise tamper with elections. They have done this so long they cannot win by fair means.
