I also loved learning about this theory. The mental gymnastics we sometimes go through to confirm our thoughts/biases is so real! #UTcommtheory

I agree! The multitude of theories we learned about shows just how versatile we are in the way we think and process our thoughts. I think it’s incredible how different our communication styles are! #UTcommtheory

The Epstein files are such a great example. You cannot find a news outlet that hasn’t covered it. Although it is major news, you can tell what sides certain media outlets choose to cover. #UTcommtheory

Hi Bryan, I agree. Algorithms really changed everything when it came to agenda setting. We are seeing exactly what social platforms want us to see! #UTcommtheory

You make a great point! This is such a good example of how important wording is too. You see a lot of biased wording in media, and those are the small things that can make a world of a difference in how we perceive news and articles. #UTcommtheory

You just borough back so many memories. I loved Harry Potter growing up, and books/movies like this definitely aided in the big imagination I had growing up. I agree with you! #UTcommtheory

This is such a good example. Disney not only affects what we have consumed media-wise since we were children, but now they also own hundreds of companies. They are a monopoly! #UTcommtheory

This is so real. Sometimes the posts I like aren’t for any reason either…I probably just found something funny or was doomscrolling. The amount of times my friends or my mom will send me a screenshot of something I liked is embarrassing! #UTcommtheory

Aaliyah, I agree completely. It’s difficult enough to be an online student and not have any interaction with professors or peers. The fact that everything is becoming AI generated makes that disconnect even worse. Dystopian, even. #UTcommtheory

I get this, and sometimes find myself doing the same. It’s almost like overcompensating makes you feel more capable though it’s only adding more to your plate.

Oh my gosh… the panic you feel when someone thinks you’re being weird or insensitive when you make a niche reference!! I know this feeling all too well. However, I know I’ve found my people when my references are understood!

It’s a good thing I didn’t have any money when I was seven years old, because I would’ve given away every last penny to the ASPCA! This is such a good example of pathos and immediately what I think about when it comes to emotional appeals in advertising. #UTcommtheory

I love this meme! This is such a good example of cognitive dissonance and what the inside of my brain looks like every time it’s time to choose dinner. #UTcommtheory
