as I said on Selection Sunday, Alabama proved today that they didn't belong in the College Football Playoff. Put them in the secondary playoff with James Madison, Tulane and Texas Tech.

The C batteries in our mantle clock are almost dead. "Almost", because over the last week, as I have failed to find replacements, the hands have still been moving 5 or 6 minutes every day. My fascination with this is tempered only by the dozen times each day I forget and check it for the time.

I'm sorry but if that wreck doesn't immediately bring out the caution, NASCAR has decided to endanger its drivers in return for a green flag finish. The two leaders wrecked each other, for God's sake! The whole field could have plowed into them.

Typical NCAA/FBS crap. The football transfer portal windows certainly needed revising so of course they went overboard, down to a single window of 10 days in January. They should have left the April window alone, after spring practice. By the time they get it right, something else will break.

I just like to point out that all 4 big conference championship games tomorrow could be won by a team in its first season in the league (Texas, Oregon, SMU, Arizona State). All four of them are favored, btw.
