This is the second airport that is going dark because of Trump’s government shutdown.

Republicans need to do their job and come back to Washington.

It’s shameful that Speaker Johnson and House Republicans refuse to release the Epstein files. Swear in Adelita Grijalva and get this done for the survivors and American people.

Today, we remember and mourn the thousands of innocent men, women, and children whose lives were lost on October 7 and in the devastating aftermath.

We must keep pursuing an end to the violence, and the hostages still being held must be released.

If you live in California, now’s your chance to fight back against Trump’s attack on free and fair elections. Vote YES on Proposition 50.

Early voting starts today. Let’s make sure Republicans know that we won’t let them rig our elections.

It’s time to swear in Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva.

House Republicans would rather keep the government shut down than release the Epstein files.

Republicans continue to postpone the swearing-in of Adelita Grijalva, the newest Democrat elected to Congress, for a sixth day.

Her day one promise is to be the tie-breaking vote to release the Epstein files.

Today Senate Democrats tried to pass a bill to end the shutdown and keep health care premiums from skyrocketing.

Not a single Republican voted for it.

Let’s say you’re a decade from retirement and make a middle-class salary.

Your health insurance costs are about to triple—yes, triple—because Trump would rather keep the government shut down than stand up for you.
Infographic comparing proposed premium rate changes for 2026 Affordable Care Act plans and annual premium payment for a benchmark Affordable Care Act plan for an average 55-year-old couple making $85,000. The chart shows a annual premium payment of $7,225 in 2025 with the premium tax credit applied, and in 2026 if the premium tax credits expire, the chart shows the annual premium payment tripling to $24,535.

It’s day 3 of the government shutdown.

Republicans are still refusing to come to the table to negotiate about Americans’ health care.

And by the way, after Donald Trump agreed to fork over $20 billion to Argentina to bail out their economy, they went to China and completely undercut American soybean farmers like this man.

The Art of the Deal in action.

Soybean farmer: What we need more than anything is access to markets on a level playing field. With the trade war and the tariffs, we're at about a 20% price disadvantage when it comes to what the Chinese have to pay for our soybeans versus the Brazilian soybeans.

Project 2025 was Trump’s plan all along.

He played dumb and is now tasking Project 2025’s chief architect to take power from the people and put it in his greedy hands.

The last 3 government shutdowns have been under Trump.

Trump caused this.

It’s Day One of Trump’s government shutdown. And what’s he been up to?

He’s bailing out Argentina’s economy while forcing our air traffic controllers and service members to work without pay. What happened to America First?

Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. If they wanted to, they could work to keep the government open. But they don’t.

They’re shutting down the government, and here’s why.
kenmartin.bsky.social
Trump and his Republican lackeys just shut down the government.

This is their fault.
The first page of a graphic with a statement from DNC Chair Ken Martin on the Republican government shutdown reading, "In the clearest sign yet that Republicans are inept, incompetent, and lack any respect for the American people, they just shut down the federal government. Health insurance costs are about to double for families because of Republicans, but instead of preventing yet another Trump price hike, they are leaving the American people high and dry. This shutdown is on Republicans, and voters agree by a whopping 13-point margin.

Republicans have obliterated health care through cuts and inaction. Hospitals and nursing homes are on the brink of shutting down, and costs are skyrocketing. As Democrats, we have been clear in our position from the start — we want to reverse the cuts, lower costs, and save health care for the American people." The second page of a graphic with a statement from DNC Chair Ken Martin on the Republican government shutdown reading, “Weak leaders like Donald Trump and his Republican buddies in Congress pass the buck and let people suffer. Strong leaders find a way forward to stop families from getting screwed. While Republicans hide out on vacation, Democrats have been at their desks in Washington, prepared to do their jobs. In this case, our job is to negotiate on behalf of all Americans, whether they are middle-class families being priced out of health care or workers being targeted by Trump.

Our country deserves better than Republican dysfunction and chaos. Voters deserve elected leaders who actually look out for them. Democrats stand ready to deliver for the millions of people who are sick and tired of Trump wrecking the economy, wrecking health care, and wrecking Americans’ futures.”

12 hours until the government shuts down.

Democrats are at work, ready to protect your family’s health care costs from skyrocketing. Meanwhile, House Republicans are on vacation and the president is posting disgusting AI videos.

Our country deserves better than GOP dysfunction.

Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe just signed a gerrymandered congressional map into law. We're not going to stand by and let the GOP take power from the people.

We’re partnering with Democrats on the ground to collect signatures for a citizen referendum to overturn these rigged maps.

My heart is with the congregation in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Praying for the victims and their families, and deeply grateful for our first responders.

The violence must end. No family in this country should fear for their lives while worshipping.

Sending federal troops into our cities doesn’t make communities feel safer. If anything, it sows distrust and fear.

Trump is sending troops to Portland with the goal of “doing a number” on the city.

He wants to stoke fear and chaos and trigger violent interactions and riots to justify expanded authoritarian control.

Let’s not take the bait!

Portland is peaceful and strong and we will take care of each other.

Here’s the thing: the government doesn’t have to shut down.

Trump backed out of negotiations to keep the government open. He told Republican members of Congress not to bother dealing with Democrats.

The ball was in his hands. And he fumbled it.

The Democratic Party became the party cemented in civil rights in 1948 because of a young mayor, Hubert Humphrey.

Nothing good in our party happens without new voices pushing the party to evolve on issues.
