My experience is that only software and FPGA people use version control. All others use stupid naming conventions, prayer, and occasional chicken sacrifices, and complain a lot, while absolutely refusing to learn to use the four commands needed to use the VCS that the software department has

Oh, a thousand times yes. I haven’t done a video game since I left Atari in ‘96, but a fast, reliable build is more important than almost anything else
