I don't really know that that means...yet. But someday, and I know not when that day will come...but someday, I will stand upon that bridge...and when I do, I will clutch my sword and pray my challenge will be answered!

She has great taste! Mimikyu was my favorite too!

It gives what a wise soul once called "scope for imagination."
January 20, 2026 at 6:27 AM
Well, then I'm looking forward to it all the more! Maybe one day we'll meet on the field of battle, haha.

I've decided I'm going to work my way through all of them! Though it might take me a while, from the sound of it. Thanks for the guidance; I'm still looking forward to 2 most of all.

Right there with you. I know how it feels to eat at your own confidence like that. I know it probably sounds hollow but I'm certain it went well and that what you're feeling is just what you said--exhaustion. A shadow that will pass. Things went well; so the shadow is just a lie.
January 20, 2026 at 5:15 AM
I know the feeling, heh. But if it went well, why are you feeling that way?
January 20, 2026 at 5:10 AM
Oh, it's beautiful! You should be proud!

I love them so much this is so good❤️❤️❤️

I hadn't read this, no! This is delightful. It's actually a little surprising I hadn't already known this, in fact. I adore all three of them; though Emily in particular.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say I get a bit of thrill out of some of the more sexist tropes. I kinda miss some. I like damsel-in-distress stories. That doesn't mean all women need to be powerless, obviously. But I appreciate a classic "interrupt the virgin sacrifice" kind of story. It's fun.
January 20, 2026 at 3:39 AM
Haha, I've noticed! I don't mind at all. I'm not particularly sensitive about the 'isms. Not that say I approve of them or anything! But I have the luxury, I suppose, of being able to read around them.
January 20, 2026 at 3:39 AM
Reflecting on it, I feel like it might have slightly changed how I look at men, which might make it the most sexist book I've ever read, heh.

I did my honors thesis on Blood Meridian senior year of HS (I graduated early), mostly because I thought it was edgy picking something so violent. It turns out my heart wasn't nearly as hard as I'd expected, heh...but hey, it was a good read anyhow. Memorable.

I can work with weird! I'm a Pale Fire fan, heh. I'll try it!
January 20, 2026 at 1:10 AM
Oh, I don't mind CW stuff. I don't remember how old I was when I read my first nightmarishly violent sex crime in print, but it was definitely single digits. Perks of growing up in a bookstore, heh...

Oh, I'm sure I have! I know that name. He shows up in the midcentury sci-fi/fantasy magazines I collect! I can't place any specific stories though; I should go look through. (A lot of them are...like, really really bad. But there are gems! I'll assume he's among those, hahaha.)
January 20, 2026 at 1:04 AM
I haven't read either of them! I'm looking them up now. I'm sure I've seen these books, but I guess they've escaped me...until now! Got any starting recommendations? :3

Aheh. Aheheheheh.

I read a lot. As in, a lot a lot. It wouldn't be a lie to say it kept me alive through some extremely hard times. I could go ON. But if I had to list a few favorites? Brontes. Howard. Nabokov. For poetry, Dickinson.

Other than reading and RPGs, music is my favorite thing in life, and concerts/shows are 1000% my favorite place to be. (I even went to a "minecraft rave." It really happened. I...didn't last long. But I was there!)
Anyhow, really excited for the 6th! ❤️
January 20, 2026 at 12:27 AM
I live almost immediately adjacent to Golden Gate Park. I've been to a lot of concerts just by stepping outside. Outer Lands, in particular, but there's almost always something going on. I'll be seeing Gogol Bordello on the 6th! (Though that's at the Warfield.)

I need a new phone, heh...one with like a real camera. I still use a Galaxy 5.

Oh that picture doesn't capture it at all. But two rows back some guy has a...dome?
