The 2018 Who's are true to the spirit of the original while being less obnoxious to me, there's also a subplot with Cindy Lou trying to catch Santa to ask him to help her overworked mom. It's a worthy successor in my book

The Jim Carrey Grinch absolutely makes certain Who's antagonistic while painting the rest of Whoville as shallow and materialistic besides Cindy Lou. The 2018 Illumination Grinch is closer to the original just making the Grinch have a vaguely rough childhood and more mischievous than malicious
