Or: play the game systems WITH children. Move them towards nontoxic online behavior. Teach them how to win and lose gracefully. Model the same good sportsmanship found in Little Leagues for online spaces, and defang the bullies in both places.

There's definitely a level of strategy, tenacity, and as you mentioned, repetition, involved on the way to the park-walk! But it's great how we can appreciate playing for so many different reasons.

Endlessly fascinated with how many people react this way, when the gameplay is brutally punishing! But then, I'm deep in a Witcher 3 run for comfort right now, which is not entirely dissimilar in grimdark and monstrous themes. So the vibes check makes sense. 😉

Yes, It's 'natural' -- and humans are not separate from nature. We are animals that have a massive effect on our ecosystems, and are directly harmed when these sorts of events occur. Policy can exaggerate or reduce harm: it doesn't start the fire but it does fan the flames.

The critical use-case has emphasis on the 'signaling'. aka those who talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Ironic that the meaning is lost when it's used as you described.

Not 'the internet's per se, but people online are like neighbors. I appreciate a warning, as there are topics I don't want to engage with recreationally, but do consider the source. My time and money is limited, so regular folks who share their insights are valuable!
