Me finally getting to experience the joy of the unfiltered Ninja Gaiden 2 staircase on my $300 Xbox after the game recycled the first boss 8 times, had me fight worms and pillbugs in acid pools and threw in some nerfed Ghost Fish for the hell of it, all in the same mission:

I found it within my abilities to reach up to ELO Hell in Nightreign. Deep of Night is a fun mode when it's this "easy", but I don't think I have it in me to ascend further into the Ball-Crushing Factory.

Was another age, it was.
Having gone through Ys 1 & 2 on Turbografx CD for video material, I decided to play through that version of Ys III as well. Absolutely delightful experience, much leaner than Felghana even. There's something about the gleeful whimsy of 90s anime games that draws me in every time.

Having gone through Ys 1 & 2 on Turbografx CD for video material, I decided to play through that version of Ys III as well. Absolutely delightful experience, much leaner than Felghana even. There's something about the gleeful whimsy of 90s anime games that draws me in every time.

The curtain rolls on TitS once again.
Absolutely fantastic remake. Everything has been touched up so much it kinda surpasses the modern games, while also adding a sprinkle of new.
But I know the real reason behind this remake is to subsidize these assets for the end of the series.

My local library was a trip. A third of their game selection was Xbox, they had Transformers Devestation on 360, Switch games were represented by laminated cards in a small box and I heard a little girl be super excited about Super Giana Sisters on PS4. Great place.

'Tis the season, so I gave Junji Ito's Shiver a read.
I had read a couple of stories before, but I love how he takes these small ideas and runs with them. Like Marionette Mansion being born of mangaka back pain.
I think Painter was my favourite, but the shark model is also unsettling.

I figured out that it's much easier to record voice-over while dehydrated from sleeping. I haven't had water or breakfast today and I got 5 minutes worth of audio done in 3.5 hours. I can no longer be stopped.

After one minor co-op session of Nikoderiko I say it passes the bar.
They're wrestling in the ring of giants being so shameless about stealing from Rayman and Donkey Kong Country with a dash of Crash, but these are some awesome levels.

Got a couple of thoughts after clearing the 1st chapter of 1st chapter:
Wow, you can just run around and explore in Bose without getting plot gated. I totally forgot.
I may have finished getting the spells I wanted already, but the game actually fights back on hard mode! Been so long...
