I have 330 games in my Steam library and every time I'm prepared to play one of them, my brain tells me I should be doing something more useful with my time so instead I go on Reddit and watch funny animal videos.

Screencap of a UA drone attack vid. This image will likely be used in a painting to illustrate the hoplessness of this situation.

The trench itself is already infamous for the sheer waste of lives involved in trying to cross the road that runs across it.

I just started watching Star Trek Strange New Worlds and it's great. Unfortunate that this year will be the final season. I was reluctant to watch it after I had such high hopes for Picard and Discovery but was severely disappointed. Better late than never I suppose. @cbsstudios.bsky.social

No fantasy sword collection can ever be complete without this majestic beast from 'The Sword and the Sorcerer' (1982).

First photo out of my A7IV with a Tamron 35-150mm. Subject wouldn't stay still.

Just voted in a runoff election for a city council position and I was the only person there. Kudos to the election staff who volunteer for these low turnout races.

How a fraction of voters decide who runs Texas
In Texas, who’ll run the state is usually decided during the primaries. Because of gerrymandering and noncompetitive elections, few people participate.

Even though I've been serious about my photography for the last 3 years, there's still so much to learn and I've barely scratched the surface of using flash / lightboxes etc.

A whole new world waiting to be explored.

Sees an article about a musician who calls themselves 'at morning' because they don't know what AM means and I let out a slight chuckle before I realize I don't even know what AM and PM means. 🥶

After agonizing for days, I pulled the trigger on getting a Sony A7IV with a Tamron 35-150mm lens.

I hope it will be worth it. 😐

I've come to realize that a sizable part of my music discovery process comes from UA war videos.

Someone offered to pay me to take their graduation photos and I'm reluctant to do it. I take photos as a hobby, plus doing photos for money, there's a certain expectation of quality. If I produce something mediocre, there's no pressure or regret.

This week is going to need to end with a michelada.

One more hurdle to jump and it's not happening soon enough. Then we're in business... literally.

Mass climate migrations are just on the horizon.
“”If it doesn’t rain in Tehran by late November, we’ll have to ration water. And if it still doesn’t rain, we’ll have to evacuate Tehran,” President Masoud Pezeshkian was cited as saying on Thursday by the SNN.ir semi-official news agency.”

Iranian capital faces water rationing and evacuations if it doesn't rain soon, president warns
Iran’s capital is facing an unprecedented water and energy crisis as reservoirs supplying the city plunge to historic lows, threatening supplies of drinking water and electricity generation.

I don't know too much about gene editing like CRISPR which has a bright future ahead of it.

But where do we draw the line? Or, are we headed to a Gattaca like world that erases all cell mutations and defects. Freezing human genetic development.

Are we ok with having cosmetic children?

In totally unrelated news, the son of a certain President who serves on the board of directors for a US based drone company just landed a Pentagon contract to supply parts.

Just realized tonight is a Beaver Moon.

I wonder if I can use my A6400 with a 70-350mm lens to pick up anything. It's a clear sky, not a cloud in sight!

This will be my first attempt at astrophotography of sorts.

There was a UPS plane crash in Kentucky yesterday that destroyed blocks of warehouses and I have yet to see anything on the national news about this.

I want to upgrade to a full frame camera from an apsc but all it takes is reading one negative comment out of the 99% positive ones to derail my motivation to commit to the purchase.

"Oh the shutter gets loose after 10,000 shots." 😑

No camera for me today. Until next time.

Would love for a remake of this film Killbots aka Chopping Mall. Not sure why it was renamed but I remember seeing the original a few times. Years later, I see it retitled as Chopping Mall with its length cut down.

Started a management services business a couple weeks ago and it's been quite an adventure navigating the path towards being legally compliant. Although its not my first time starting something, it feels more complex this time around.

I've been uploading some photos to Google Maps. A night walk on The Strand in Galveston, I took several photos which created a virtual map of my route.

I took much more than what's displayed here but I'm pacing myself doing 1 or 2 locations per day.

That sinking feeling realizing that the 200 photos you shot of a concert in low light was only shot in JPEG because you forgot to switch it to RAW.

first time for everything I guess.
