As much as I agree with what you're saying here, a more existential threat to Sky would be something like losing the TV rights to the Premier League which is arguably the crown jewel of their entire business model. If Netflix or some other streamer took that away, that would be alarming for Sky.

Nah that's getting spun out as "Discovery Global". The deal today is Netflix buying Warner Bros including its film and television studios (HBO Max and HBO) whereas Discovery Global (Discovery, Quest, TNT etc) is now a new publicly-traded company which Netflix isn't buying

But hasn't that been the case with cinemas since their existence? They've always shown ads and trailers before the main feature presentation, whereas streaming services advertised themselves as an alternative to cable but are now essentially imitating cable.

I don’t know if there’s a more perfect illustration of the utter fucking nonsense that creative pollution by AI will produce than this choice to illustrate the power of Paramount’s new “localization” and “customization” technology by face-swapping Brad Pitt into the lead role of GET OUT

It needs a John Waters at the Prince Charles saying sternly, “turn off your cell phone!” or a stern voiceover saying “Turn off your phones, finish your conversations”, or even a Daniel Kaluuya monologue in the dark. It needs to be verbally said, not visually said!

You’re not the only one Callie. Even I admit that it’s been an underwhelming year

That opening shot of the camera pushing onto Sam and Lou before pulling out again to showcase the rocky desert of the U.S./Mexico border is jaw-dropping. Everyone who worked on this game should be immensely proud

I just saw this pal so I know it’s probs a bit late to say this since that vile decision but hope you’re doing okay and having a peaceful Easter break. Should catch up soon ❤️

Tbh, I winced at the £75 price for a physical copy. That’s more expensive than a brand new PS5 or Xbox Series X game. Maybe it’s me but I’m quite shocked at the high prices and I feel like they’ve shot themselves in the foot
