30 yrs ago I was in ‘Spoons in N22 with a couple of German students, in London from their English university up north. One asked “Where are the bouncers?” “Bouncers?” “In Hull, all the pubs have bouncers!” Me “But this is London” I remember it because it seemed such an odd thing to ask.
