It's unfortunate. My friend went to see ANACONDA with a date last week and she got out her phone and started recording clips for social media.

Perhaps I am more sensitive to it... I don't know.

Ha!

Agreed! I loved it and disappointed to see it not get recognized.

You've had good luck! Or, maybe it is the time of day? I try to go to earlier screenings to avoid bad behavior but I encounter it a lot. Getting folks to stop using their phones during the movie is challenging...

It's true. I want to be friends with this person.

I need to watch it again. It is probably one of my favorite pictures of 2025.

That's a bummer, man! Just watch the original for a good time.

You're reminding me of the art teacher in "Strangers With Candy."

"In art class today, we decided to break in the new kiln by putting in objects the manual specifically prohibits! I can see why 'car battery' is on the top of the list."

I'm not aware of this ever happening but it sounds like a terrible idea!

This movie is so damn good.

I didn't know Scarecrow was doing this! It's my old, hometown video store. I used to rent laserdiscs there all the time.

That sounds like an exhausting way to learn about new music.

There are so many emotional, ethical, biological, economic, and philosophical issues...

It's sad! Thankfully, there is over a century of filmmaking preceding the modern demise for me to continue enjoying. And, let's not forget about baseball!

There aren't any great voices anymore, no critics that demand my attention or new movies that I get excited about. Written film criticism has been replaced by podcasts and YouTube videos and when I check to see what's playing in theaters, I say to myself, "I don't want to see any of this shit."

The erosion of the culture and of movies themselves has been depressing to witness. With your formal exit, it gets a little worse...

"Amendment I: Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

To those in the cheap seats. Are you there?
