Costco or no, Alaska needs a law school. Between ANCSA and ANILCA, our legal environment is legitimately different from any other state, and we need a school that teaches it.

Ok @forrestdunbarak.bsky.social, Because I'm a wonk, I found the citation.

Per Alaska Stat § 44.09.040, it is in fact "a last frontier."

They shouldn't. Just as we should not pretend that make-work sprinkled randomly throughout a curriculum on a schedule having nothing to do with that curriculum is education.

I was looking at the protesters, not his annual pig roast.

I mean... It's an old story, but it may count.
Pig masks and a political shift in Alaska
For the last 15 summers, Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) has hosted his state’s political heavyweights at a down-home pig roast fundraiser. But this August, pigs of a different kind snorted back at…

Given ANCSA and the North Anchorage Land Agreement, would Eklutna Inc. have the right of first refusal on any land or buildings transferred from Anchorage to Eagle River should Eaglexit actually happen?

The mechanics of the feed allowed me to exclude posts from people on the list that also include the hashtag, meaning we only get one version of the post, that coming from the hashtag itself.

You find what you look for.

I've found Tai Chi helpful, but it took re-learning what to look for within my body.

Tai Chi works with energy that is invisible to Western medicine, which doesn't look for it. It takes time to relearn, and there is nothing stupid about it.

Content that AI generates can't be protected under US copyright law. Strangely, due to a precedent set by PETA in court.

I wonder where the line is when using an AI editor, as the referenced company intends to do.

If artists need to prove human content, this could get very, very messy.

I suspect you would have more luck pushing for standards DST.

With artificial light available, an hour or daylight is more valuable for after work activity then it is before work.

Thank you.

I may have to revisit Friendica. A quick glance at Wikipedia indicates that they have added AT to their OAuth and ActivityPub.

That being said, if I had just stuck with Mastodon instead of trying to get too much into federation, I probably would not have lost contact with you all

I ran across this and thought of your post. It's frustrating how many times people build a new protocol to federate social media, and how much effort then has to go into federating the federation
protocols.

I grew up in Sitka, but went to college in Minnesota. Every summer I came home and worked at a fish processing plant.

While in college, I paid income tax in MN.

MN made more money off of my work processing Alaskan fish than AK did.
