Meanwhile in NY, Shani Wallis's performance in A Time for Singing, a 1966 flop musical adaptation of How Green Was My Valley got her the role of Nancy in Oliver! (she played the same role Maureen O'Hara played in the film)

A Time for Singing lasted 41 performances.

It's a curious thing. The published sheet music (which is pretty in pink) gives the title we know.

What's less discussed is the fact that the line in the sheet music and vocal score (and some libretti) is "There's no bus'ness like show bus'ness"

Clayton Davis at Variety reports that the Tony Awards confirmed to him that Spielberg has a statuette for ASL, though I find the phrasing... odd.

Having worked on the 2022 telecast... I don't think his name *ever* came up. But Jennifer Hudson (who EGOTed that night) is VERY nice. (2/2)

Spielberg is credited as a producer on A Strange Loop's IBDB page; however, his name is not in the opening night Playbill, he isn't credited in the official 2022 Tony Awards nominations press release or Tonys website, and his name doesn't appear on the show's window card. (1/2)

They should have kept the thrilling "fire in the sky" section that was in the middle of "He Wanted to Say" in the original Toronto production of Ragtime (seen here with the divine Camille Saviola belting for her life as Emma Goldman)

A glimpse at Chita Rivera’s jaw-dropping routine for “When Velma Takes the Stand” in Bob Fosse’s original production of Chicago.

I am “I saw Chicago at the Shubert” years old.

No way I was missing Kate Baldwin and Robyn Hurder as Roxie and Velma, my first time seeing Chicago in 15 years.

Oh—and Alex Newell was sublime.
