As a straight, white, male, I see myself represented everywhere: every book; every advert break. What the adverts and books like mine seek to do is give everyone the opportunity to see themselves. Represented and valued in societies and communities like that of 'We Are Home.'

A great way to spend a birthday 😀

This is the reason I wrote this book! (Immigration✅️, race✅️, flags ✅️) Schools are microcosms of society. As society becomes more divided, there is the danger of this happening in classrooms. Give children a story stimulus, a character to talk through and guide them through respectful conversations.

I have a year 6 class that got a lot from it. I wrote the kind of book that I like as a teacher. Short books, that stimulate thought and discussion. Ages 7-11 I'd say.

The fire at the Spellow Lane Library and Community Hub in Liverpool inspired me to write a children's #picturebook about community and belonging. It is released on Amazon on August 3rd; one year on from the fire. It's my attempt at bringing something positive from those dark days. #hopeoverhate

Fairly new to Bluesky so I've only just seen this. Great lists and great to see picture books promoted throughout Key Stage Two!

I advocate for picture books throughout primary. Some children like or need to finish a story in one go. Some need pictures to aid comprehension and language acquisition. Some just find more beauty in them. Picture books distill complex themes to aid understanding of the world around us.
