I just donated to help a family rebuild after unimaginable loss. This family's son is friends with my daughter. Every little bit helps. Please consider contributing or sharing their story. Together, we can make a difference.

The exuberance of spring makes arriving home joyful. I feel so lucky that we found and created this oasis. For sure, Bella is one lucky pup! She has thrived having the space to run and explore.

Contractor for PG&E working on removing a dangerous leaning tree on our property. That yellow splotch is the brave soul up there removing branches. I wonder who will do this critical work once we've deported most of the people willing to do this sort of thing? Impressive to witness such bravery!

Gorgeous bobcat was about to come in but stopped when (s)he saw me. I retreated to the house and David got this shot from his window. We've had a lot of bobcat activity this spring. 🥰

Bella loves to put the Frisbee right on the edge between the mowed and un-mowed. She knows I'll be back and give another throw.

Weather improving here and I finally had a chance to mow in some areas in couldn't get to before. Springtime is so exuberant here. Everything bursts out as if it knows 6 months of drought is just around the corner. Smart plants!

An affirmation of my own recent decision to cancel my subscription to WaPo and start rethinking just about everything. An Excellent read.
This week I left The Washington Post after 40 years, 6 months and 6 days. Today I have a piece in the New Yorker explaining my heart-breaking decision, and including the column that was spiked. I wish I never had to write it. www.newyorker.com/news/essay/w...

Looking forward to some rain to water in the newly planted lettuce and other beds that have been dry for over a week now. We need rain! Looks like it's coming in reasonable amounts for the next week or so.

We were filling out the evening with some music videos and stumbled on this. It was so fun and right up my alley. Maybe you'll enjoy it too. The original is from my youth but this is an amazing refresh😃

Today is going to be amazing! Beautiful weather and sunshine. Today will be the first mowing. Grasses have been growing like crazy from the winter rains. SO looking forward to getting out there and enjoying the scenery and getting the blood pumping.

Pretty day! We'll enjoy them while we can. Rain starts up again next week. Veggie beds are getting prepped as well, so it's busy and exciting this time of year.

I needed some relief from human chaos today. Thankfully, the gardens were willing. We had a mild winter, so many plants that might not have produced managed this year. Thank you, Mother Nature!
