Good ol’ Congo! I went through a Michael Chrichton phase in the late 90s and read I think everything he wrote. Congo still holds a special place in my heart as a pretty dang fun adventure.

Very cool! Was just listening to NPR yesterday and they were interviewing a bookstore owner who named her store Octavias! I haven’t read this one, but I bought it after listening and plan on starting next week!

100% agreed, I have a habit of speed reading and not retaining information well. Audiobooks have forced me to listen to and absorb it all.

What I’ve found is that over the past few years, new book narrations tend to be faster than earlier recordings which could be really SLOW. Those I’ve listened to up to 1.5. My narration style tends to be faster so that people don’t have to do any speeding up.
