Today feels like a good day for a new introductory post. My name's Kevin, I'm an artist and zine-maker from the PNW.

My other hobbies include soccer, video games and depression. My future apologies for all the political skeets.

I actually did beat this one, I remember finally getting into it like 20 hours in or whatever and then the game just ends. Like they ran out of time and were like... Um, see you in the sequel!!

I also have the other game from Silicon Knights that drove them into bankruptcy! Again, this game has parts of the Unreal engine in it that they didn't license.

Also notable as I think it's the only X-Men video game where you can't play as Wolverine.

The Disney one was the one we didn't get into, thank goodness. We spent plenty of money on Skylanders and Lego.

GameStops in the Seattle area wouldn't take them. You could get around it though by just swapping the case to one without the sticker.

These days no one cares, some people think they're a cool collectible because they came from the Microsoft store.

Yeah, there are ways of getting around it, but half of the fun is getting the figure.

The Lego version is funny, because the Legos became collectable, you could buy just the base with the NFC tag for like $1.

Pictured up a 3DS just a couple of years ago, so our DS collection is pretty small, but these two are dope.

This game got the developers sued by Pixar. It's delisted and like a ton of copies had to be taken off shelves and destroyed. Apparently an early Pixar short featured a unicycle that looked too close to this game's main racer.

The thread is getting too long. Here's my Atari light-sixer. This is essentially the first major revision of the original VCS. 1979, I think is when these came out. Called a light sixer because it had six switches on the front and the bottom shell is thinner and lighter than the first VCSs.

I think you can get this digitally now, but for a while this was the only way you could play WindWaker in HD.

This Metroid Amibo is the only Amibo that has squishy pieces. Unique I guess!

My son told me there was something special about this. Some Sonic game that was only on this collection. I just can't remember.

Honestly I don't know if this is rare or not but it's a WiiU port of a 3DS game. I feel like that's kinda notable.

Too Human! And from the Microsoft company store no-less. This is the game that bankrupted Silicon Knights. They used parks of the Unreal Engine code without proper licensing. Whoops!

The crazy part about this is there are levels in Skylanders and achievements that require you have these figures. You can't 100% the game without blowing a ridiculous amount of cash, unless you got really lucky like I did when they came out.
kevinnewburn.bsky.social
Believe it or not this is what $300 worth of Skylanders looks like. This is from Trap Team, they released new characters in waves and the light and dark character/level packs were at the end of the cycle, so they really limited, they go for about $150 each.

These games are fucking dope, and I think they're still delisted. A third game in the series on modern consoles feels like a no brainer so of course they won't do it.

This is a VGA adaptor for the Sega Dreamcast. The DC doesn't output in HD, but you have no idea how crisp it looks on a computer monitor. I believe it does full 480p. With some games it's a notable improvement.

This is the first wrestling game to use the THQ/Aki engine that became famous on the N64. It's kinda forgotten about, which I think makes it pretty cool.

This is dumb, but when I saw Trials HD and Limbo actually got physical releases I bought this immediately.

This might be my favorite Mario Kart. It's definitely my favorite to play, I love the two character combos, but some of the levels are lacking.
