Made fudge-style pralines last night. A former coworker’s “secret family recipe” inspired them. She wouldn’t share it, so I reverse-engineered it. Moral of the story: that treasured family recipe probably came from a cookbook and lives online in 20 variations.

I've been telling myself that I was going to make a King Cake, but I haven't had the energy this year. Since time is running out, I bought one from Easy Tiger. This one comes with a little tiger instead of a baby.

I’m excited to get film for my Polaroid SX-70 land camera. I don’t think I’ve had film in it (or them, since I have two) in about 25 years as it has gotten difficult to acquire and expensive when you can find it.

We have lots of kumquats. I guess we’ll be making marmalade.

I just watched Star Trek: Section 31, and I’m saddened by how bad it is. It’s like a cross between an episode of the tv show Leverage and a Men In Black movie, one of the later ones.
