I use Canada Post to ship out my prints. Its crucial for my business. Canada Post staff are fantastic when I go in to ship stuff out. Corner store depots are a NIGHTMARE for small businesses. Try going in with 30 packages while people are buying lotto. UPS and Fed Ex triple my costs.

This ostrich farm story has remarkable staying power. You think it’s basically done, and then Dr Oz butts in. And then there’s a police standoff. And then it turns out the farmers are in crippling debt. If you haven’t been following, give yourself 10 minutes and read up on it. It’s worth it.

In the end, what matters is the legislation.

But if we’re talking about the politics, I don’t think it’s counterproductive to recognize where the power lies. From my perspective, the power lies in a minority government. If we end up with a better bill, that’s a minority government working.

I guess my point is you can celebrate your wins, but ultimately I see no reason to believe the Liberals responded to public concerns here (except indirectly, as public pressure informed the positions of the other parties).

My churlish take is a different one: if the Liberals had a majority, the bill almost certainly would have passed already in its original form. They needed to change it for purely pragmatic reasons, since no other party was going to get on board. It’s not about us; it’s about math.

I actually thought it was a bit thin on plot, which is kind of the opposite of what this guy’s saying. He makes it sound like a melodrama.

The Rock is great. Even the UFC guys act well.

And there are so many scenes that stuck with me, largely around Kerr’s relationship with his girlfriend.

There’s this criticism of The Smashing Machine as just being an inferior, more ham-fisted version of the documentary it’s based on.

But that’s really a reviewer thing. The majority of the audience hasn’t seen the doc. I actually found the movie very understated.

I was a bit underwhelmed by Alien: Earth at first. I liked it enough, but I found it wasn’t at that master level I was expecting from Noah Hawley.

Turns out it’s a slow burn. By the end of the season, when all the tension and the horror ramp up, it gets really good.

Lucky! I’ve been on a waiting list for a family doctor for over 5 years, since I moved back to Quebec, along with more than a million other people in this province alone. It’s gotten so bad, the government considered just not giving doctors to people they deem healthy.
