Here's another recently completed garden mural. Really enjoyed putting this pop of colour on a bare grey wall to create a more inviting backdrop for this garden space.

This series of murals is the result of over a week's work of painting & several weeks of prep with students & their teacher, Ms Quilter, in St Brigid's School, Killarney.
My thanks to the students & Ms Quilter for their willingness, creativity, & hard work to get this massive project completed!

Painted for Sheila's Hostel in Cork. Technically tricky to paint on these locker doors but very happy with the results!

Really enjoyed painting this on the new platform at Kent Station for Irish Rail. Big shout out to my 4 year old boy and his train set for inspiring this one. Finished just in time for the official opening on Monday!

See a fair few AI images on LinkedIn but this is peak.
This post bemonaing feeds of AI slop is illustrated, without a hint of irony, with an image made using... AI slop. 🙃

Some pics of a recent commission for Scholarlee Cork on the Mardyke. These gates and doors were fairly unsightly beforehand and in need of some TLC. Over the last couple of weeks they've been cleaned, primed, painted, and varnished!

Been meaning to put in a rain barrel for a while but finally getting around to it now. Hoping to use what I collect for watering plants and washing paint brushes. To be installed tomorrow!

Took a long lunch while working down in West Cork this week! Walked the Garnish Loop from the Dursey cable car station. Some unreal views from the Peak.

I'm sure the electrical companies with their sustainability commitments & policies plastered all over their websites and social media will dismiss this stupid idea out of hand. 🙃

Well past time for the public sector to start migrating to new platforms. Sticking to the previously old reliables during major events just won't cut it anymore.

Not bothered about the demise of Facebook or Instagram. The Merlin app is keeping me going these days! Some bird chat captured on a recent walk in the Regional Park. Have seen all of these at in the park at one stage or another, except the Long-tailed Tit.

Just spotted this on Instagram by a local cafe. Not a social media guru by any stretch but would be hopeuful that the way forward for businesses would be to choose real images of their products instead of this kind of slop. Looks like it could be from a pixar movie.

Really encouraged that I haven't blown my bobs on a pricey bit of kit that I can't use! It works well in the light polluted skies here in Ballincollig but looking forward to testing it in darker skies soon and playing around with different lenses.

These two 30 second exposures show the difference the tracking mount makes. In the first, the stars are blurred and the trails show how they move across the sky due to earth's rotation. The second image, taken with the mount aligned, tracks them across the sky and captures them with more clarity.

Finally got a chance to use the tracking mount last night. Tricky to set up the alignment with the North Star initially but worth the effort and should get easier with practice.

Clearish but not clear enough. Will try again tomorrow night!

Spoiled myself with a new bit of camera gear for Christmas - Bresser Star Tracker Mount PM100. Rotates to compensate for the earth's rotation when taking long exposures of the night sky. Might finally get a clear night to test it tonight!
